The BCAF Provides Assistance to the Strafford County Family Reception Center
The Strafford County Family Reception Center received a grant from the Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund (BCAF) to help defray the cost of snacks and special quarterly year events for the kids of those incarcerated at Strafford County Department of Corrections. The Family Reception Center’s mission is to provide a comfortable, trusting, and supportive environment where inmates’ families and friends may come before or after visits to receive validation and resources that may lessen the impact experienced through incarceration of a loved one.

From the Bishop: “Don’t Wait Too Long for a Renewal"
Have you ever felt like opportunities have passed you by? Like maybe your best days are behind you? Well, as I celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of my ordination this past year, I thought I could qualify as someone who was, as we like to say here in New England, “all set.” At my young age, I did not really anticipate encountering anything brand new. Well, I have news for you. Very good news: God is never finished with any of us.Read the Bishop's message from Parable Magazine.

Travel Series: Our Lady of Hope House of Prayer, New Ipswich
Each week as part of our summer travel series, we feature a different Catholic destination in New Hampshire or greater New England right here on catholicnh.org. Last week, we traveled to Spencer, Massachusetts to visit Saint Joseph’s Abbey, home of a community of Cistercian monks whose famous jams, Trappist Preserves, support their ministries. For the final destination in our Summer Travel Series, we head back to New Hampshire to visit Our Lady of Hope House of Prayer in New Ipswich. The Sisters of the Presentation of Mary operate the House of Prayer, a place of quiet retreat and solitude for the spiritual traveler.Read more about Our Lady of Hope House of Prayer in New Ipswich, NH.
